RETIREMENT, MONEY, WORK, CONTENTMENT

Somebody said this and I agree:
Many people spend a lifetime trying to get rich so that they can enjoy life when they retire. If they ever retire. Even at a very old age, many people continue to work and work…and work. By the time they really retire, They are too old to enjoy life. Many of the very rich people do not really need the wealth that they have accumulated from all their hard work. They have more than enough. They do not really need the money…but they just cannot stop working.
PROMISE: I WILL SLOW DOWN. I WILL SAVOR THE MOMENTS. I WILL ENJOY THE REMAINING DAYS, MONTHS, AND YEARS OF MY LIFE. I WILL DEFINE THE END-POINTS OF MY CONTENTMENT. I WILL JUST WORK TO HELP OTHERS.
A repost to serve as a reminder particularly to me.
I have set the following slow-down targets in my medical practice circa 2010 before my mandatory retirement age of 65 (no more rat race). I have been contented and I will maintain these slow-down targets up to age 70 (January 31, 2019):
1. 100 consultations per month (3 clinic sessions per week only)
2. 4 operations per month
These are enough for me. These are my end-points of contentment in my medical practice. I will do other activities particularly in helping other patients; writing my memoir; blogging; family bonding; enjoying life; etc;
