How to Live Life – ROJoson’s Way

>Target the average life span of Filipinos or of people all over the world to live a fulfilled and meaningful life.

As of 2018, the average life span of people all over the world is 70 years old.  For Filipinos, average is about 70 years old also (67 for males and 72 for females).

As of 2018, World Health Organization considers a person dying before age 70 as dying a premature death.  One implication is that the person has not taken good care of himself.

As of 2018, the longest human lifespan, officially recognized, is that of Jeanne Calment of France (1875-1997) who lived to the age of 122 years and 164 days.  Nobody lives forever.  Somehow, all people will have to die sooner or later.

Before death, all people should prepare for a happy death, which boils down to having lived a fulfilled and meaningful life.  At present, with the average 70-year-old lifespan of people all over the world, with WHO admonishing everybody not to die a premature death, the most practical thing to do is to target 70 as the number of years to live a fulfilled and meaningful  life.

>Make an intentional life plan targeting 70 years.

Write your intentional life plan targeting 70 years either on paper or in digital form, not in the mind only.  Document it.

Your intentional life plan is more than a bucket list.
The overall goal will be staying alive up to 70 years old at least; surviving physically, financially, and mentally while enjoying life; living life to the fullest; living a meaningful life; being productive, contented, enjoying and happy.

Place your life goals in concrete terms with clear end-points or key performance indicators and timelines.  Target accomplishment deadlines earlier than 70 years old as much as possible just in case you don’t stay alive up to 70.

Evaluate yourself yearly using the documented intentional life plan formulated at the very start as a guide.

Review the intentional life plan yearly and edit to refine or to change as necessary.  Document all refinements and changes.

Just before 70 years, say 6 months, do a summative evaluation based on your documented intentional life plan to see whether you have lived your life to the fullest, whether you have lived a meaningful life.

If yes, you are ready for a happy death.

– If you live beyond 70 years old

If you live beyond 70 years old, make another 5-year intentional life plan focusing on refinements of your legacies or building new legacies, but still with end-points.

Continue to live a healthy lifestyle for you to reach another 5 years.

Evaluate and review annually.  Do a summative evaluation before you reach 75 years old.

If you live beyond 75 years old, make another 5-year intentional life plan focusing on refinements of your legacies or building new legacies, but still with end-points.

Continue to live a healthy lifestyle for you to reach another 5 years.

Evaluate and review annually.  Do a summative evaluation before you reach 80 years old.

Repeat the same processes after 80 years, 85 years, and beyond.

– If you have a disease that may hinder you from living up to 70 years old

If you happen to have a disease which based on actuarial statistics will hinder you from staying alive up to 70 years old, still formulate an intentional life plan targeting the actuarial lifespan data given to you.

Write your intentional life plan either on paper or in digital form, not in the mind only.  Document it.

Your intentional life plan is more than a bucket list.
The overall goal will be staying alive up to actuarial lifespan at least; surviving physically, financially, and mentally while enjoying life; living life to the fullest; living a meaningful life; being productive, contented, enjoying and happy.

Place your life goals in concrete terms with clear end-points or key performance indicators and timelines.  Target accomplishment deadlines earlier than the actuarial lifespan as much as possible just in case you don’t stay alive up to the actuarial lifespan.

Evaluate yourself yearly using the documented intentional life plan formulated at the very start as a guide.

Review the intentional life plan yearly and edit to refine or to change as necessary.  Document all refinements and changes.

Just before the set actuarial lifespan, say 6 months, do a summative evaluation based on your documented intentional life plan to see whether you have lived your life to the fullest, whether you have lived a meaningful life.

If yes, you are ready for a happy death.

If you live beyond actuarial lifespan, make another 3 to 5-year intentional life plan focusing on refinements of your legacies or building new legacies, but still with end-points.

Continue to live a healthy lifestyle for you to reach another 3 to 5 years.

Evaluate and review annually.  Do a summative evaluation before you reach your additional 3 to 5 years.

TO BE CONTINUED.

Repeat the same processes if you continue to live beyond.
